Nelson’s client is looking for an IT Communications & Community Analyst at their HQ in San Francisco. In this role you will report to the Director of IT Business Operations (CIO Chief of Staff) and be responsible for communications to all levels within the IT organization, as well as to our IT customers across Salesforce.com. The candidate must be a strong communicator with understanding of IT and good business acumen. S/he must be a proven professional with relevant experience in driving communications, building a community, and driving customer satisfaction. The strong candidate will have several years of working experience in a fast-paced, global technology company with exceptional growth.
The IT Communications and Community Analyst will facilitate all communication across IT. The selected candidate must be a great communicator, strong influencer, promoter for collaborative culture, high energy with a gung ho attitude. Clear, concise and consistent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
IT Chatter Groups – Responsible to monitory IT-related chatter groups, including IT All, IT Manager, Social Enterprise/Frontier, and Airing of Grievances chatter groups. Respond to posts and includes appropriate CIO direct and IT managers for resolution as appropriate.
IT Presentations – Meet with key stakeholders, storyboard presentation, create presentation content (via PPT or Google Presentations) and coordinate with others to consolidate material for IT meetings. This includes IT All Hands (1x per quarter), IT Managers Meeting (2x per quarter), IT Operations Review with COO (1x per quarter), IT Steering Committee Meeting (1x per month), and IT OpComm Meeting (every other month).
IT FYI – Key owner for review IT FYI requests to ensure Change Management approval is obtained, message is clear and concise, send to targeted audience. Coordinate with Corporate Communications and obtain approval from IT Leadership for enterprise wide communications. Assess process to identify streamlining opportunities.
Ad Hoc Communications – Assists in drafting communications for ad hoc events such as Promotions Process, Promotions Announcements, Organization Change Communications, etc.
IT Survey – Responsible for all surveys across IT. This includes creating/modifying IT survey, facilitate & communicate process, collect result, conduct analysis and trend for all surveys. Key surveys include: semi-annual IT Employee Survey, quarterly IT All Hands, and IT Welcome Cloud.
IT Intranet Group and Google Sites – Assists in creating and editing Google site and intranet (CMS) pages for IT. This includes the general IT intranet site, IT on-boarding site pages and others, as required. Site work includes design of layout, prototyping, testing, content updates, documentation and general maintenance.
IT Volunteer Events – Responsible for identifying, coordinating, and facilitating volunteer events for IT (minimal 1 event per quarter). Be the ambassador for IT and promote a culture of caring and helping employees give back.
Building the IT Brand – Build and execute strategic social programs for IT. Author newsletters, create scripts for videos broadcasts or utilize other creative vehicles for IT Leadership to communicate to staff and IT customers. Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them, so that the company can continue to be an early adopter of these technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing preferred
1-3 years of experience in a similar role
Experience working with enterprise cloud or social highly desirable
1-3 years of working experience in a communications, PR, or community manager role
Good understanding of technology
Previous work experience in an IT organization is a plus
Excellent communication, writing, editing, and project coordination/management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while multitasking, re-prioritizing projects and communicating priority updates to stakeholder
Capable of handling multiple assignments / projects simultaneously
Ability to serve as a collaborative and effective partner with IT executives; ability to influence decisions across functions, all levels in IT community, and internal customers
Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable with public speaking
Strong written communication and listening skills
Intermediate level in Power Point
Proactive in asking questions and communicating status or issues
Good organizational and planning skills
Ability to multi-task and open to taking on a variety of different types of tasks
Experience and working knowledge with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Visio, Word, and Excel are essential) and Google applications
Strong analytical and math skills for working with Excel sheets and formulas
General business acumen and knowledge a plus
Experience in creating a Google site or other web site development or content management is a plus
