Nelson Staffing is currently seeking an HR Assistant for our client located in Palo Alto, CA. This is a temporary opportunity.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Compensation Manager, this HR Assistant IV provides data entry support for processing changes in employment status and entering related data in a timely and accurate manner. The incumbent in this position is responsible for planning and carrying out the assignments and keeping the supervisor informed of potential problems and recommended solutions.
Functions include working closely with the Compensation, Employment, HRIS, Employee/Labor Relations and Payroll staff to ensure that employee data is entered accurately in to the Lawson system including new employee data, PAF changes, wage/salary changes, license and performance evaluation updates, and terminations.
Reports To: Human Resources Manager, Compensation Frequent Contacts: Human Resources Staff, Hospital Managers and Employees.
High school diploma and three years of data entry experience required. AA degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies and procedures
Knowledge of or the ability to learn computerized human resources and payroll systems
Knowledge of or the ability to learn compensation administration principles and procedures
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
Ability to prepare and process routine administrative paperwork
Ability to organize work effectively, set priorities and provide attention to detail
Experience in Word, Excel and other computer based programs are required
Experience with Lawson, Human Resource Information system is preferred
Must have good problem solving abilities, analytical thinking, and process improvement skills
Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with personnel at all levels, use good judgment, and treat sensitive matters in a confidential manner
Must work with sensitive and confidential data, and exercise discretion, tact and good judgment
Must be a team player
